Garland upgrades gravel roof with Cool-Sil Eliminator

CLEVELAND – Garland Corporation announced the release of Cool-Sil Eliminator, a one-component gravel surface finisher that provides waterproof protection to gravel rooftops, preparing them for UV reflective coatings.
Cool-Sil Eliminator is a ready-to-use, low VOC silicone rubber dispersion that can be easily applied to a dry, clean surface using a roller or a powerful airless sprayer. The coating holds firmly between the laid stones and hardens, locking the remaining gravel in place, with no stone protruding more than a quarter of an inch.
“For aging gravel composite roofs that are still in good condition, refurbishment can reduce the disruption to day-to-day operations that a complete replacement can cause,” said Ed Buchek, director of product management at Garland. gravel into a level surface, homeowners can also keep gravel and other construction debris out of landfills.”
Removing debris that would otherwise end up in landfill is just one of the environmental benefits of the Cool-Sil Eliminator. It has a low VOC content and low odor, which means that the application process is convenient for both the contractor and building occupants. Once cured, the product is ready to use with a high gloss Cool-Sil finish and can be applied by brush, roller or spray. The finished bright white roof is UV resistant, which reduces building ambient temperatures and utility bills, and is NSF 161 certified to safely prevent runoff from nearby watercourses.
“The Cool-Sil product line is designed to benefit building owners, contractors and the environment,” said Buchek. “With the Cool-Sil Eliminator, we will artificially extend the life of gravel roofs, an energy-saving application that will ultimately lead to significant improvements in building energy efficiency.”
The Cool-Sil Eliminator is now available from nearly 200 Garland Area Managers in the US and Canada. To learn more about the Cool-Sil Eliminator, visit garlandco.com.
